O Lord, hear my prayer..………Taize Music
Today while writing for my blog worrylessjourney.comĀ I was reminded how much I love the music of the Taize community in France. Their meditative songs help me to focus. The Quakers have a term “center down” and these songs help us to do that. Music can bring us close to God.
Listen to this sung prayer and reach out to God. AMEN

I have always felt that sharing problems cuts them in half. I know that not everyone feels this way. However, we need to share our woes with the person who loves us the most, God almighty.
We don’t stop enough and spend time with God. We don’t pour out our hearts and seek the soothing peace of God. Tell God your problems and leave them at his feet.
Loving God, you are waiting for us to reach out to you. You are willing to shoulder our worries. Help us to seek you. AMEN

Children do tell the truth. Sometimes a truth we would rather they didn’t tell. But we are called to be as children in the presence of God. God wants us to come to him wide open with no doors closed. God wants the truth…the truth about us. God wants us to share with Him and let him know our fears, our sins, and our joys. Share with God. Be as children. He will understand.
Loving God, help us to share all that we are with you. AMEN

We all want to do some great work and change the world. We keep trying to find our niche. The problem is that our niche may be the simplest thing. Each thing we do matters. There is nothing too small. Just taking food to someone sick may be the thing you are called to do. Don’t waste time trying to be things you are not. Be the best you- you can be.
Imaginative God, help us to see that everything matters and no job is too small. AMEN

Apathy is a dangerous thing. It can lead us to do nothing and see a Hitler arise. We have to speak out against evil. We cannot ignore it. We cannot wait for someone else to take care of it. We must speak.
Jesus never sat back. He always spoke out.
Gracious Lord, help us to have the strength to speak up against evil. Help us to not be afraid. AMEN

All of us have known fear and we will know it again until life ends. It is what we do with the fear that matters. We may not be able to think it away or push it down into some dark place. The trick is to keep on in spite of it and hold on to God for support. I love the part of the 23rd psalm that says “thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Comfort is available to us. We just have to ask.
Ever present God, you are there waiting on us to call. Comfort us in our times of fear. AMEN

I am sure that gossip is evil. I am also sure that gossip is irresistible. When we hear something juicy about someone we just can’t wait to pass it on. Does it make us feel better? Do we seem less vulnerable ourselves? Somehow we do think that putting someone else down makes us better than…..but we are not.
We are called to love one another, have compassion and be kind. We are not called to gossip.
Loving God, forgive our sharing of gossip and remind us that we too are not perfect. AMEN

We miss so much every day. We look at things but we really don’t see. Today it rained and I didn’t take time to sit and watch it. I didn’t see the leaves with rain drops on them. I didn’t see the earth greening.
Life is a series of moments. Be sure to see them.

I think that the quote above makes if perfectly clear why Jesus made the choice he did. It did not please some of his disciples. They had a different plan. Jesus makes it clear with his ministry that his is the right choice. Power is an idol. Don’t make the mistake of choosing it.
Heavenly father, remind us that love is the only choice. AMEN

I have always loved this expression used by a friend. She saw the angels at work in life and always acknowledged them. She helped the rest of us see God at work in our daily lives. Because of her I often see the arangels working. Look for God’s miracles every day.
Amazing God, thank you for the miracles you do every day. Help us to see your work and praise your name. AMEN
