Chronic illness, whether mental or physical, is so draining. It can be a struggle to get through each day. It takes the knowledge that God’s love is with us no matter what. Even if life is difficult it is still important and you have something to share with the world. When I visited sick and shut-ins as a parish nurse they always felt they could do nothing to help anyone. I reminded them that prayers are needed and possible even though ill. There is always something we can do to help heal the world.

The new year is on its way. As you are thinking about what it will be like forget about making resolutions. Just keep in mind that God loves and trusts you. He believes in you. There is nothing more important than that. There is nothing more that you need. Believe in yourself. Move forward with confidence knowing that you are safe in His hands.
Who are you following?
It is so easy to follow the crowd. Our society encourages us to conform. People who don’t follow the group are considered odd. Certainly if we follow Jesus and the things that he did we will be considered odd. After all helping the poor, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless are not high priorities for society as a whole. Yet we are called to do as Jesus did.
God, you want us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Help us to follow his path in spite of societies ideas. AMEN
Be yourself
Follow the grain in your own wood. –———-Howard Thurman
I bet you are wondering what in the world this has to do with God? It not only does, it is important. Each of us is god’s creation but each of us is different. I may not have been born to be famous or a movie star but my life has a purpose. God wants each of us to be the best ME we can be. There isn’t another person now, in the past, or to come who is just like you. You don’t have to be famous or a genius. Be you. God wants you to do that. BE YOU!
Creative God, you made each of us to be unique and fill the role that you created for us. Help us to do just that. AMEN
